Our work
Reducing Harm Through Commercial Sexual Exploitation
WSP leads on work in Scotland to reduce harm caused by prostitution and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation, offering a diverse programme of awareness raising, public education, capacity building and training. We engage with women with current or past involvement in the sex industry, working alongside women to develop safe and innovative ways of their views being heard.

National capacity building work on FGM and other forms of harmful practices
We work to raise awareness of harmful practices, in communities and amongst practitioners. One aim of the work is to strengthen knowledge of and links between BME led organisations and VAW organisations. We are not funded to provide ongoing individual support, but we respond to requests for support and information, including from FGM survivors, and can signpost or refer to services and treatment when needed.

Training and Public Education
We can provide training for practitioners and community organisations on a range of issues around violence against women, and resources to support training and public education.
Welcome to Glasgow
Welcome to Glasgow is a short course developed from our Rights & Choices initiative, which supported refugee, asylum-seeking, and migrant women in Glasgow who were experiencing isolation and/or gender-based violence.

The six-session course (approximately 1.5 hours per session) is designed to reduce isolation by increasing knowledge of the city, local culture, and available support.

Topics include:
-
A Brief History of Scottish Culture
-
Women's Rights and Human Rights
-
Transport
-
Healthcare
-
Things to Do
-
Support Services

We are able to discuss potential future collaborations to deliver these courses.
